Amendment Eight: Bail and Punishment
Excessive bail shall won't be required, nor excessive fines or punishment will be imposed.

Significance of the amendment- We need this to make sure everyone has right to a bail, and sometimes a punishment if the crime is severe enough.

Analysis
You may be asking, 'what's bail and punishment mean?' Or perhaps, 'what does it mean by excessive bail or fines?' If so, the answer is here.

To bail means to give up property or money to ensure someone released from jail will return at an appointed time. And a fine is an amount of money you have to pay the government as a penalty. For example, you must pay a fine for illegal parking. By excessive, they mean that you can't be fined with an amount of money you can't possibly pay, or be punished with torture devises.

Georgia

We chose the FERMAN vs. GEORGIA(of 1972) court case.

In the FERMAN vs. GEORGIA court case, William Henry Furman was accused of murder in Georgia. He was robbing a house when the resident came home. He fell while trying to escape and accidentally fired his gun, killing the person. The Supreme Court held that the death penalty was imposed in such a random way that it was no longer a good way to decide. And because cruel and unusual punishment was banned by the Eighth Amendment, the justices had difficulty agreeing. One person said that they couldn't allow it because it was only an accident. Others thought the death penalty shouldn't be used at all. The finally did agree, though, that it could only be given by legislatures, not by the courts.
After this, 37 states rewrote their death penalty laws.

you want to pay money that you don't have? Or be subjected to cruel and unusual punishment, like a torture devise? I don't think anyone would like it.
